Project Overview

The Pab's Lane Cabin project transforms an older cabin on a family farm in Jefferson County, Georgia into a large multi-generational gathering home overlooking a private lake. The design preserves the character of the original cabin while expanding the structure to support family gatherings, extended stays, and flexible living.

 

This project includes a significant structural transformation, where the existing roof was removed, raised, and expanded to create additional usable space, improved ceiling heights, and expanded living areas.

 

New additions include three bedrooms, three full bathrooms, an office, a secondary office, a loft, expanded attic storage, and a large family gathering space with expansive lake views.

One of the most significant aspects of this remodel involved removing the original roof and raising the structure to create additional usable space. This transformation allows for:

  • Expanded attic storage

  • New loft space

  • Secondary office

  • Improved ceiling heights

  • Better natural light

These structural changes significantly increase the functionality of the original cabin while maintaining its character.

Lake View Family Gathering  Space

The new family gathering space features large windows overlooking the private lake. This addition creates a strong connection between the interior living areas and the surrounding landscape, making the space ideal for family gatherings and everyday enjoyment.

Loft & Secondary Office

The remodel also introduces a loft space and a secondary office, providing flexible areas for work, relaxation, and additional sleeping accommodations when needed.

The design extends the roof-line to create a large covered outdoor patio supported by heavy timber framing. This outdoor space is designed to function as a gathering area for family events while taking advantage of the lake setting.
