About Ivy Architectural
Thoughtful Residential Design for the Way You Live
Every home tells a story.
Whether it's a custom home built from the ground up, a renovation that transforms an existing space, a detached structure that adds flexibility to a property, or an outdoor living area designed for gathering and relaxation, great design begins with understanding the people who will use it.
At Ivy Architectural, the goal is simple: create thoughtful residential designs that reflect the way you live, fit the property they are built on, and provide lasting value for years to come.
No two families live the same way.
Some homeowners need space for entertaining. Others are planning for a growing family, working from home, creating a retirement retreat, or simply trying to make better use of the home they already have.
That's why every project begins with a conversation.
Before floor plans are developed or design concepts are explored, I take the time to understand your goals, priorities, property, and vision. The most successful projects aren't built around trends—they're built around the people who will live in them.
The goal is not simply to design a house.
The goal is to design a home that supports the way you live.
Every Project Begins with Listening
My Design Philosophy
Thoughtful Design
Every square foot should serve a purpose. Good design isn't about creating the largest home possible—it's about creating the right home.

Practical Solutions
Beautiful homes still need to function well. I believe successful design balances aesthetics, usability, construction practicality, and long-term value.

Collaboration
The best projects happen when homeowners, designers, and builders work together toward a common goal. Open communication and shared expectations create better outcomes for everyone involved.

Long-Term Thinking
A home should continue serving your family long after construction is complete. I strive to create spaces that remain functional, comfortable, and enjoyable for years to come.

A Passion for Designing Homes That Feel Personal
My path into residential design wasn't a traditional one.

I've always been drawn to creativity and three-dimensional art. Looking back, I can see how the Lord was preparing me long before I recognized it myself. Creativity has always been one of the gifts He placed in my life, though I didn't yet understand where it would lead.
As a young man, I would occasionally design vacation homes for fun, but I never considered residential design as a career. Looking back, the connection seems obvious. At the time, I simply couldn't see the path God was preparing.
That changed in 2021.
After deciding to move farther north in Georgia and searching for land, I began looking through stock house plans for ideas. The problem was that none of them felt quite right. The layouts, details, and overall designs never fully aligned with what I envisioned.
Like many situations throughout my life, when I couldn't find the solution I was looking for, I decided to create it myself.
As I began designing my own home, I rediscovered a passion for creativity that I hadn't felt in years. For the first time, I found myself thinking, "I could do this every day and truly enjoy my work."
That realization led me back to school at Lanier Technical College to study Drafting and Design.
As graduation approached, I began searching for opportunities within the industry. Most available positions would have required relocating and leaving behind the home and community that had inspired this entire journey.

At the time, I was frustrated because I couldn't find the path I wanted.
Looking back, I believe the Lord had a different path in mind.
Rather than stepping into an established position, I was being called to build something of my own. What initially felt like a closed door became the opportunity that ultimately led to Ivy Architectural LLC being created in 2023.

What I once viewed as obstacles now feel more like direction. The Lord used a love for creativity, a search for a home, a return to school, and a series of unexpected circumstances to lead me toward work that I genuinely enjoy and feel blessed to do each day.

Serving North Georgia and Beyond
Most projects are located throughout North Georgia, but I have also worked with clients in Metro Atlanta, South Carolina, North Carolina, and other locations on a project-by-project basis.
Whether your project is close to home or farther away, I am always happy to discuss the opportunity and determine whether it is a good fit.
Residential design is about more than floor plans and elevations.

It's about creating places where families gather, children grow up, holidays are celebrated, and everyday life unfolds.
I consider it a privilege to play a small role in helping homeowners bring those spaces to life.
